No, a guide is not mandatory but is highly recommended for historical context and navigation.

Are there restrooms along the Upper Terrace Route?
Restrooms are located at the Machu Picchu main entrance and near the ticket office before you start the route.

What if I arrive late for my entry slot?
Late arrivals may be denied entry or allowed in only if capacity permits. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled time.
