FAQs
Is Circuit 2A good for a first Machu Picchu visit?
Yes — Circuit 2A is the most complete route and the one most first-time visitors choose, covering the classic postcard viewpoint, the main urban sector, and the Sacred Plaza area in a single ticket.
What's the difference between Circuit 2A and 2B?
Circuit 2A runs through the upper terraces and main urban sector with the classic high-angle view; Circuit 2B covers the lower terrace with plaza views from below and fewer crowds. Both take about 2 hours.
Can I add Huayna Picchu to my Circuit 2A ticket?
No. Huayna Picchu requires a separate permit under Circuit 3A, so it must be booked separately. Circuit 2A and Huayna Picchu cannot be combined on the same ticket.
If you would like to visit Circuit 2A first and then Huayna Picchu, we recommend booking the two entry times approximately 2 hours apart. For example:
- Circuit 2A at 7:00 a.m. and Huayna Picchu at 9:00 a.m.
- Circuit 2A at 6:00 a.m. and Huayna Picchu at 8:00 a.m.
However, if you prefer to visit Huayna Picchu first and then complete Circuit 2A, we recommend allowing 3 to 4 hours between the two entry times.
Is Circuit 2A accessible for limited mobility?
Partially. The route includes stone paths and stairs typical of the site; it’s not fully wheelchair-accessible. Contact us before booking if you have specific mobility needs.

Circuit 2 was everything we hoped for — stunning panoramic views, well-preserved terraces, and that classic postcard photo of Machu Picchu. It was busy, but absolutely worth it!

Circuit 2 was hands-down the most complete experience. From the Guardhouse to the Temple of the Sun, we got to see Machu Picchu in all its glory. Highly recommended for first-time visitors.

We chose Circuit 2A and it absolutely delivered. From the Guardhouse to the Main Plaza, every step was a visual masterpiece. The classic Machu Picchu photo spot was right there — unforgettable!
Natalie –
I booked Circuit 2A because I wanted the full postcard view — and wow, it was even better in person. You start high, looking down at the ruins with Huayna Picchu in the background. A dream come true.
Diego –
If you’re torn between circuits, go with 2A. It starts with the iconic upper terrace view and then descends into the heart of the ruins. We saw everything from the Temple of the Sun to the Sacred Rock.
James –
2A is the most photogenic route hands down. You walk through all the classic angles, and the sun hitting the ruins in the morning was magical. We couldn’t stop taking pictures.
Marco –
Circuit 2A was intense in the best way — lots of walking, but you feel immersed in the grandeur of Machu Picchu. Highly recommended for those who want the most complete experience.
Tina –
Honestly, both 2A and 2B are great, but if you’re fit and want the full view, choose 2A. If you’re with family or have limited time, 2B still gives you a magical experience without the extra climb.
