FAQs
What's the difference between Circuit 2B and 2A?
Circuit 2B follows the lower terraces with plaza views from below and generally lighter foot traffic; Circuit 2A covers the upper terraces and the classic postcard viewpoint. Choose 2B if you want a calmer visit.
Is Circuit 2B less crowded than other circuits?
Yes, it’s one of the quieter classic routes, since it skips the busiest upper viewpoint area.
Can I combine Circuit 2B with Huayna Picchu?
No. Huayna Picchu requires a separate permit under Circuit 3A, so it must be booked separately. Circuit 2B and Huayna Picchu cannot be combined on the same ticket.
If you would like to visit Circuit 2B first and then Huayna Picchu, we recommend booking the two entry times approximately 2 hours apart. For example:
- Circuit 2B at 7:00 a.m. and Huayna Picchu at 9:00 a.m.
- Circuit 2B at 6:00 a.m. and Huayna Picchu at 8:00 a.m.
However, if you prefer to visit Huayna Picchu first and then complete Circuit 2B, we recommend allowing 3 to 4 hours between the two entry times.
How much walking is involved in Circuit 2B?
Mostly flat terrace paths with a few short staircases — less elevation change than the upper circuits.

Loved Circuit 2 – it felt like walking through living history
Luc –
Circuit 2B gave us a smoother route but still included the essential sites like the Sacred Plaza and the Temple of the Three Windows. Ideal for those who want great views without too much climbing.
Hannah –
My husband and I did Circuit 2B and it was the perfect balance. Less demanding than 2A, but it still covered the key highlights. We didn’t feel rushed and had plenty of time for photos.
Marta –
Circuit 2B was surprisingly complete. I expected it to be a shortcut, but we actually got to see most of the important temples and spaces. Perfect if you want to avoid steep sections.
Elena –
We did Circuit 2B in the afternoon and it was fantastic. Fewer people, great lighting for photos, and easy to follow. Still got to see the main ceremonial center and plenty of alpacas!
