By purchasing Machu Picchu entrance tickets, add-on tours, or any related products or services (collectively, the “Services”) through Machu Picchu Tickets (Machu-Picchu-Tickets.com), operated by Traveleez Peru SAC (“MP Tickets,” “we,” “us,” or the “Company”), you (“the client,” “you”) agree to these Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”). Please read them carefully before completing your purchase.
1. General Terms
All bookings made through MP Tickets are subject to these Terms. By making a payment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The version published on our website at the time of your booking applies to your reservation.
2. Independent Reseller Status
MP Tickets is an independent, authorized reseller of official Machu Picchu entrance tickets and related tour services. We are not the Peruvian Ministry of Culture, Consettur, PeruRail, IncaRail, or any government entity. Machu Picchu entrance tickets are issued and regulated exclusively by the Ministry of Culture of Peru, which is the sole authority governing access to the Machu Picchu Sanctuary.
3. Booking
Your booking is confirmed once we issue a written confirmation after receiving payment. Please review your confirmation carefully — all names must match exactly as they appear on the passport used at the time of booking. Report any errors immediately; corrections may not be possible once a ticket has been issued.
You must present the original passport used at the time of booking to access Machu Picchu. If you have renewed your passport since booking, bring both the old and new passports.
Student discounts require a valid, physical university student ID (ISIC or equivalent) with an expiration date within the same calendar year as your visit, in accordance with Ministry of Culture regulations. A copy must be provided at the time of booking.
4. Machu Picchu Entrance Tickets
Entrance tickets are issued under the traveler’s personal details and are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-changeable under any circumstances. This is a strict policy of the Ministry of Culture of Peru, not MP Tickets.
Once issued, tickets cannot be modified to change the traveler’s name, date, or circuit.
In exceptional cases (official closures, rescheduling, or force majeure declared by the Ministry of Culture), modifications or refunds may be possible under official government regulations. We will assist in managing any such process, but final approval rests exclusively with the Ministry of Culture.
Tickets are typically delivered by email within 5 hours of confirmed payment, and always within 24 hours.
5. Add-On Tours and Services
This section applies to optional services booked alongside your entrance tickets — such as a guide, bus transport (Aguas Calientes–Machu Picchu), or a full-day guided tour (“Add-On Services”).
- Add-On Services are subject to availability and are confirmed together with your ticket purchase.
- Cancellation: Add-On Services can be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours before the scheduled start time. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the start time are non-refundable.
- Guides are qualified local professionals. Itinerary, pace, and group size may vary depending on the specific tour booked; details are provided at checkout and in your confirmation.
- You are responsible for arriving on time at the designated meeting point. MP Tickets is not responsible for missed services due to late arrival.
- Any concerns during an Add-On Service should be reported to your guide immediately so they can be addressed in real time.
6. Payment Methods and Fees
Accepted payment methods:
- Cash
- Visa debit/credit card (~5% service fee)
- PayPal (~7% service fee)
7. Health, Safety, and Physical Demands
Visiting Machu Picchu involves walking on uneven terrain, stairs, and high altitude (over 2,400m). Please assess your own fitness before booking, and disclose any relevant medical conditions when booking an Add-On Service involving physical activity.
We strongly recommend all travelers purchase comprehensive travel insurance covering medical emergencies, trip interruption, and evacuation. MP Tickets does not provide medical advice and is not liable for health conditions arising before or during your visit.
8. Liability
MP Tickets takes reasonable care in selecting guides and service providers, but is not responsible for acts, negligence, or omissions of third parties (including Consettur, PeruRail/IncaRail, hotels, or independent guides).
MP Tickets is not liable for weather conditions, strikes, natural disasters, illness, injury, or loss of personal items during your visit. Clients are responsible for their own belongings, conduct, and appropriate insurance coverage.
We reserve the right to modify itineraries or reschedule Add-On Services due to unforeseen circumstances, to ensure safety and service continuity.
9. Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is strongly recommended for all travelers and remains the sole responsibility of the client. It should cover cancellations, accidents, illness, and personal belongings. MP Tickets bears no responsibility for costs resulting from incidents not covered by the traveler’s own insurance.
10. Force Majeure and Unforeseen Circumstances
MP Tickets is not liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond its control, including natural disasters, strikes, social unrest, governmental decisions, epidemics, or transport disruptions (“Force Majeure”). In such events, refunds or credits — if applicable — depend on the policies of the Ministry of Culture, rail operators, or other third-party suppliers, not MP Tickets.
11. Modifications by the Client
Once entrance tickets are issued, no modifications are possible under any circumstances (see Section 4). Requests to modify an Add-On Service (date, time, or type of service) must be submitted in writing and are subject to availability; administrative fees may apply.
12. Photography and Media
During Add-On Services, guides may take photos or videos for promotional purposes. By joining, you grant permission for MP Tickets to use such images for marketing or social media, unless you opt out in writing before the start of your tour.
13. Privacy and Data Protection
MP Tickets collects and processes personal information solely for booking, payment, and operational purposes. Your information is not shared with third parties except as required by law or to fulfill travel arrangements (e.g., rail operators, guides). By booking, you consent to the processing of your data in compliance with Peruvian Law N° 29733 — Personal Data Protection Law. Read more in our Privacy Policy.
14. Complaints and Claims
Any complaint regarding our services must be submitted in writing within 7 calendar days after your visit, via our Contact page. We will review and respond within a reasonable time frame. Clients may also register formal complaints in the official MINCETUR “Libro de Reclamaciones,” available upon request.
15. Client Responsibility
Clients are expected to act responsibly and follow the instructions of guides and staff during any Add-On Service, and to respect local laws, culture, and the environment.
16. Acceptance of Terms
By booking any ticket, tour, or related service with MP Tickets, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions. This agreement is legally binding and governed by Peruvian law.
17. Legal Information
